Portuguese Guitar w/ Luísa Amaro and Gonçalo Lopes

Luísa Amaro has dedicated herself to the Portuguese guitar since 1995, becoming the first woman to record and compose professionally for the instrument. She has given numerous concerts across Portugal and the world, performing solo or accompanied by other instruments, namely the piano and the bass clarinet. Her composition style reflects a relentless search for new timbre surroundings and a different repertoire for an instrument loaded with symbolic tradition, challenging the Portuguese guitar to other pulsars and rhythms. Gonçalo Lopes collaborates with Luísa Amaro since 2006, in Portugal and abroad. Trained essentially in classical music, but also jazz, his professional activity extends to practically all musical genres with a particular fondness for World Music. He has long been interested in Arab, Turkish and Eastern European music, participating in projects Al-jiçç, Alfa Arroba, 3-Bass-Hit, Macacos das Ruas de Évora and Pablibut Sone, as well as theater projects.
