Portugal Pavilion launches ‘Home & Design’ month: a showcase of Portuguese tradition, innovation and sustainability
The Portuguese Home Cluster will be featured at the Portugal Pavilion starting today, until 5 December, with artisans, designers and a series of events promising to bring the best of Portugal’s products to Expo 2020 Dubai.
The Deputy Commissioner of Portugal, Francisca Guedes de Oliveira, will be present at Expo during the launch of this initiative.
Over the coming weeks, the Portugal Pavilion will host companies and Associations from the Home Cluster, which will participate in the World Expo through conferences and exhibitions of Portuguese furniture, design pieces and decorative objects.
Visitors are invited to discover the exclusivity of Portugal’s offer in the Home sector – such as furniture, lighting, home textiles and houseware – through tailor-made exhibitions and pieces that stand out for their tradition, innovation and use of sustainable materials.
In addition to conferences on design and sustainability, the Portugal Pavilion will host themed weeks dedicated to ancestral arts and Portuguese know-how. From woodwork and lacemaking to hand-painted ceramics and traditional tapestry, visitors will be able to witness first-hand the expertise that goes into Portugal’s finest products, with artisans working in a real setting.
This month-long initiative is coordinated by the Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency(AICEP) in partnership with the Association of Wood and Furniture Industries of Portugal(AIMMP), which is responsible for leading the project and boosting partnerships with other industry associations – Portuguese Association of Furniture and Related Industries (APIMA), Portuguese Lighting Association (AIPI), Home from Portugal and the Portuguese Association of Industrial Marble, Granite and Related Branches (ASSIMAGRA).
