Portuguese Business Association and national companies visit the Portugal Pavilion amid Gulfood participation
The Portuguese Business Association (AEP) and 21 Portuguese companies in the F&B sector visited the Portugal Pavilion, at Expo 2020 Dubai, following their participation in Gulfood 2022 – the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition and one of the biggest events in the Middle East.
The AEP delegation was welcomed at the pavilion this Wednesday, 16 February, by the Chairman & CEO of the Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency (AICEP) and General Commissioner of Portugal to Expo 2020 Dubai, Luís Castro Henriques, who accompanied the Portuguese companies during the fair, and the Director of the Portuguese Pavilion, Manuel Couto Miranda.
The visit took place as the 27th edition of Gulfood comes to a close in Dubai – the largest business center in the Gulf region and one of the world’s most attractive markets.
The opportunity to take part in this event lies precisely in the visiting public, which comes not only from the Middle East, but also from countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Africa or Southwest Asia and the Caucasus.
As it is a large region, it represents a consumer market that exceeds 570 million consumers, with high import rates of agri-food products, namely from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, among others.
AEP has been organizing Portugal’s participation in this event for 11 years, having already supported more than 300 companies, drawn by the size of the markets and networking opportunities available in Dubai.
