Football ‘super-agent’ Jorge Mendes visits Portuguese Pavilion

One of the most influential football agents in the world, Jorge Mendes, paid a visit to the Portuguese Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai this week.

 

The Portuguese businessman was received by the Director of the Portugal Pavilion, Manuel Couto Miranda, who led him on a tour through the exhibition. At the end, Jorge Mendes signed the pavilion’s Book of Honour, leaving a heartfelt message: “Portugal’s history is fertile with achievements, and its customs, traditions and values in the most different areas are somewhat reflected in this pavilion, which I visited with great pride”.

 

Mendes travelled to Dubai to collect Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest accolade – Best Goal Scorer in Football History – at the 12th Edition of the ‘Globe Soccer Awards’. Recently, the Portuguese all-star also become the first footballer in the world to reach 800 goals.

 

Considered football’s first ever ‘super-agent’, Jorge Mendes runs the Portuguese agency group Gestifute, which is responsible for the services of 122 players and managers worldwide, according to Forbes.
